Transdev Rail, JV Partner - Track
Transdev is one of the world’s largest private operators of commuter and regional rail services, as well as subways and light rail systems. We demonstrate our expertise and experience every day by providing service to more than 130 million rail passengers each year. Our roots are deep in the rail industry, having both launched brand-new systems and taken over existing ones on three continents. Every day, Transdev teams manage, drive, maintain, and dispatch thousands of trains, and often manage and maintain the infrastructure they run on.
Transdev and its affiliates operate or maintain commuter rail systems as your provider in Los Angeles (Metrolink), as well as in Miami (SFRTA/Tri-Rail). Until 2014, we were the majority owner and managing partner of Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad (MBCR), a special purpose company that provided Boston’s Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) with full scope O&M services for their iconic commuter rail network, which is the largest contracted transit operation in the U.S. With Transdev’s oversight, this turnkey commuter rail service employed over 1,800 employees, and included the operation and maintenance of nearly 500 trains per day with over 96% on-time performance.
